Below are the photos from the 50K at the 2017 Yamacraw trail race from Stearns, Kentucky to Blue Heron in the Big South Fork River & Recreation Area. These shots were taken about 18-miles into the 33.1-miles race and close to a much needed aid station. It was great to see each runner’s expression going up a hill this far into the race. Expressions ranged from excitement (like the image at the top of this page) to pure exhaustion to a boost of energy so he or she would look good for the camera! Whatever the expression was on a runner’s face a little more than halfway through the race, it is captured in the images below. Many people are used to seeing the happy faces at the beginning and end of a race. These photos tell the story of the middle!

HOW TO FIND YOUR PHOTOS

Not all 50K runners have photos. But, most do. The photos are loaded in the order they were taken. To make it a little easier, your race number is placed below the image (still working on adding the numbers). If you are on a desktop computer, search for your number (Command-F on a Mac or Control-F on a PC and type your number). Some numbers are covered up, have fallen off, or cannot be read. In those cases, the number will be listed as #???, #3??, ?3?, ??3, 12?, etc… If you search and do not find your number, search the number of a friend or someone running around you. You probably have a couple photos on your phone showing their numbers. The photos are loaded in the order taken. So, if you know you were close to the front or back, start searching there. You can also search for “#???” and see if you show up in any of those photos. If you are on a phone, find your photos by scrolling to them. Or, switch to a desktop and make it easier! Four photos fit on a desktop screen and it is easier to locate your photos there.

In order to get this page live with all 1963 photos (between the 20K and 50K), all photos were run through a batch processing that made each photo smaller, reduced the quality, and added my logo. I have the originals and can zoom in on, color correct, sharpen, work with the lighting, and anything else. A few of you made faces, waved, or something interesting when you were further back and you might be a little small in these photos. I can fix a that! Just let me know how I can make your photo better!
